Senior Pre-Award Grant Administrator (Cluster 4)

About the role

The Senior Pre-Award Grant Administrator supports externally funded research grants across Georgetown's Main Campus and Medical Center. Acting as the primary liaison with sponsors, the role manages award set‑up, modifications, and close‑out while providing leadership to the Pre‑Award Grant Administrator in the cluster.

Key responsibilities

• Review, negotiate, and administer research grant agreements and sub‑awards.
• Set up new awards and process changes in Georgetown’s financial system.
• Oversee award lifecycle activities from award set‑up to close‑out.
• Provide training, oversight, and leadership to the Pre‑Award Grant Administrator.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 5‑7 years of progressive grants‑management experience in a university or non‑profit.
• Knowledge of federal and non‑federal funding mechanisms (NIH, NSF, DOD, state, international, industry, foundations).
• Expertise with federal funding guidelines (2 CFR 200, FAR) and cost‑accounting standards.
• Proficiency in budgeting, Excel, and reviewing/negotiating agreements.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask in a high‑volume environment and work under pressure.
