Senior Patient Access Representative

About the role

The Senior Patient Access Representative greets and welcomes patients in person and provides a standard registration process by collecting demographic and financial data and entering it into an electronic medical record. The position is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients in person, collect demographic and insurance information, check them in and interview them to complete paperwork
• Direct patients to their appointment or procedure and document issues and resolutions in the electronic medical record
• Complete registration for complex accounts using resources, tools and procedures; may assist with scheduling add-on appointments
• Verify eligibility and benefits information for payers, explain cost information and obtain co-pays or deductibles
• Assist patients with applications for financial assistance programs and screen and approve patients for them
• Help patients complete request for information forms and submit them to the appropriate department
• Provide technical or functional direction to employees and handle accounts in assigned work queues

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of revenue cycle experience and 2+ years of customer service experience
• Ability to work Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM
• Must be 18 years or older
• Preferred: experience with electronic medical records, financial assistance, hospital/clinic settings and Epic

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• Preferred: experience with electronic medical records and Epic

• Hourly pay of $20.00 to $36.00 for full-time employment, plus a $1,500 sign-on bonus for external applicants only
