Senior Network Engineer

About the role

The Senior Network Engineer acts as a senior technical escalation point for complex network and security-connectivity issues. The role drives root-cause analysis, designs and reviews network changes, improves resilience and performance, and provides technical leadership across operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead resolution of high-impact, cross-domain incidents and recurring network problems.
• Design, review and optimize routing, switching, segmentation, VPN, firewall connectivity and network resilience.
• Perform deep packet analysis and correlate telemetry across network, security, infrastructure and cloud platforms.
• Own technical change plans, risk assessment, implementation validation and rollback strategies.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and produce corrective and preventive recommendations.
• Coach L1/L2 engineers, improve operational standards and collaborate with vendors and client technical leaders.
• Contribute to automation, architecture documentation, capacity planning and service improvement.

Required profile

• Extensive hands-on enterprise network engineering and complex troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to lead major incident technical workstreams and communicate impact, risk and remediation to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with formal change management, RCA and operational documentation.
• Demonstrated judgment when making production changes and balancing urgency against risk.

Required skills

• Routing and switching, BGP / OSPF, high availability, segmentation, VPN and firewall integration.
• Packet analysis.
• Preferred: CCNP / CCIE-level knowledge, Palo Alto, Gigamon / network packet broker, cloud networking, SD-WAN, network automation and security architecture.
