Senior MPU and Embedded AI FAE - Healthcare/Industrial

About the role

NXP is looking for a Senior MPU and Embedded AI Field Application Engineer covering the Eastern U.S. as a home-based position, open to candidates living in Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Raleigh or New York. The engineer supports the Customer Application Support team in healthcare and industrial design-in, works closely with NXP business lines, and helps sales staff resolve technical issues and identify future customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver premium technical support to assigned customers and drive design wins and revenue in their target accounts
• Lead proof of concept, solution design and demonstrations to secure design-ins
• Turn customer and competitive insights into better product definitions, system solutions and roadmaps
• Establish the value proposition of NXP's system solutions against competitors
• Collaborate with sales, business lines and partners, and help train customers and partners on new technologies and features
• Develop system-level knowledge of target application spaces and use AI tools to improve workflow efficiency

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 6+ years of development engineering or applications support of SoC-based embedded systems
• Field application engineering experience in the semiconductor industry
• Ability to travel for customer meetings and trainings, and to train sales and distribution partners

Required skills

• Hands-on embedded Linux (kernel, user space, U-Boot)
• SoC hardware interfaces (Ethernet, MIPI, UART, LPDDR4/LPDDR5, PCIe) and ARM Cortex-A, Cortex-M architectures
• Embedded software for system processor solutions; camera-enabled graphics/video drivers helpful
• Reading schematics and recommending design changes; custom board bring-up debug helpful

• Base salary range of $166,200 to $228,500 per year (California-specific guideline)
