Senior Mainframe Architect – Chicago

About the role

Infosys is seeking a Senior Mainframe Architect to join its Financial Services unit in Chicago. The role focuses on designing and delivering scalable, reliable mainframe solutions for banking, wealth management and insurance clients, leveraging modern AI‑enabled platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and document functional and non‑functional business requirements through workshops and stakeholder interviews.
• Design and review solution architectures that align with enterprise frameworks and ensure scalability, reliability and maintainability.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate mainframe technologies, tools and platforms to meet business needs.
• Develop integration strategies across diverse systems to enable seamless data flow.
• Resolve complex technical issues during build, deployment and support phases while promoting reusable assets.
• Provide architectural guidance to development teams and foster collaborative relationships with clients.
• Identify system risks, monitor performance and propose optimization initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in mainframe architecture and solution design.
• Strong understanding of financial services domain and regulatory considerations.
• Proven ability to lead technical discussions and influence stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
