Full-Stack AI Application Engineer

About the role

Ontrac Solutions is looking for a senior Full‑Stack AI Application Engineer to join a contractor program supporting a critical customer engagement. The role involves owning a feature from data model through user interface, building and shipping applications on Google Cloud using Vertex AI and Gemini models.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python FastAPI services and PostgreSQL data models.
• Implement front‑end components with React 18 and TypeScript.
• Integrate Vertex AI, Gemini models, and the google‑genai SDK into production workflows.
• Package and deploy containerised services to Cloud Run and manage assets in Cloud Storage.
• Collaborate with delivery leads, program managers, and customer stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience building and deploying applications on Google Cloud Platform.
• Google Cloud Professional certification (e.g., Cloud Developer or Machine Learning Engineer).
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Python 3.11+, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL.
• React 18, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind, TanStack Query, Zustand.
• Google Cloud services: Vertex AI, Gemini models, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage.
• Containerisation with Docker Compose, gcloud CLI, pnpm.
• Automated testing with pytest and end‑to‑end testing with Playwright.
