Senior Litigation Paralegal

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Senior Litigation Paralegal for an on-site position at a customer location. The role works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal, DOJ administrator or Project Supervisor and supports a fast-moving litigation environment with multiple cases in discovery, including evidence handling and chain of custody. It also covers pre-indictment activities such as database searches and reporting status to the case team.

Key responsibilities

• Support discovery across multiple cases, including evidence handling, chain of custody and discovery status reporting
• Support pre-indictment activities, including database searches and reporting to the case team
• Perform moderately complex legal research, synthesize transcripts of hearings and oral arguments, and identify potentially conflicting statements or areas needing further investigation
• Write preliminary drafts of simple legal memoranda and correspondence
• Work closely with other contractor staff, with occasional contact with trial staff

Required profile

• Ability to obtain and maintain MRPT (Moderate Risk Public Trust) facility credentials; US citizenship is required for MRPT at this location
• Paralegal certificate, JD, or enrollment in an ABA-accredited law school (at least one year of study), or equivalent legal training or experience
• At least two years of litigation paralegal or project experience
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under extreme pressure

Required skills

• Data management in Relativity workspaces and evidence tracking
• One year of experience in automated litigation support
• Knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures and resources
• Hands-on familiarity with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging and hardware systems
• Hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures
