About the role

The Office of Public Health Informatics (OPHI) seeks a Senior Informatics Analyst to lead technical and functional aspects of informatics projects that support state‑wide public health initiatives. You will act as a bridge between public health practice and technology, overseeing the full project lifecycle from requirements gathering to implementation.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal OPHI teams and external public health partners to define informatics capacity and gather requirements.
  • Document use cases, review test cases, support UI testing, perform message validation, and guide user acceptance testing.
  • Develop end‑user documentation such as user guides and provide ongoing support.
  • Conduct business needs assessments, including business process analysis, gap analysis, and workflow diagramming.
  • Drive projects through initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure while managing risks and communicating status to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate meetings, gather feedback, and ensure clear communication across multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

  • Master’s degree in informatics, computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience managing or coordinating informatics projects in a public health setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

  • Knowledge of interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and CDA.
  • Familiarity with vocabulary standards including LOINC, SNOMED‑CT, and ICD‑10.
  • Experience with database management and reporting applications used in public health programs.
  • Proficiency with diagramming tools like Microsoft Visio or Lucidchart.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary range $69,134.16 – $91,309.47 per year.
  • Comprehensive benefits package for full‑time employees.
  • Workplace flexibility and opportunities for professional development.
  • Engagement in a mission‑driven environment protecting the health of Georgia’s citizens.
