Senior Functional Safety Engineer - Chassis Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Functional Safety Engineer to lead safety architecture for chassis systems in next‑generation electric vehicles. You will apply ISO 26262 across the product lifecycle, ensuring advanced steering and braking features meet rigorous safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop functional safety concepts for chassis features and provide ISO 26262 guidance during system and component definition.
• Author and maintain Functional Safety Requirements (FSRs) and drive Technical and Software Safety Requirements (TSRs/SWSRs) with full traceability.
• Perform safety analyses such as HARA, FTA, FMEA and DFA for chassis subsystems, sensors, actuators and control units.
• Support creation and review of test case specifications, hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) and fault‑injection test plans, and validate safety requirements.
• Collaborate with vehicle engineering, systems engineering and component suppliers to review analyses, test results and ensure readiness for Start‑of‑Production safety sign‑off.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in functional safety engineering for automotive chassis systems.
• Deep knowledge of ISO 26262 and its application throughout development.
• Proven ability to conduct HARA, FTA, FMEA and DFA and translate outcomes into clear safety requirements.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional engineering teams and external partners.
