Senior Engineering Manager, Agent Platform & Growth

About the role

Render is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead two teams focused on onboarding and activation experiences for both human users and AI agents. You will shape the self‑serve journey from first touch through activation and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow the UX team (human onboarding) and the Agent Platform team (API‑driven agent experience).
• Own the roadmap for the self‑serve user journey, including activation, monetization, and feature adoption.
• Partner with product and design to align roadmap with customer and growth goals.
• Hire, develop, and manage engineers, including senior ICs, while maintaining clear team identities.
• Make architectural and product decisions that balance long‑term platform investment with iterative improvements.

Required profile

• Strong people‑leadership skills with a hands‑on technical mindset.
• Proven experience building and scaling multiple engineering teams.
• Experience managing senior engineers (IC5+) and handling performance management.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity with a growth mindset.
• Background in fast‑paced environments, preferably startups.

Required skills

• Experience with API‑driven platforms, CLI, SDKs, and programmatic interfaces.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude, or Cursor.
