Senior Director, Humanitarian Policy, Advocacy & External Engagement

About the role

World Vision is seeking a senior leader to shape its humanitarian policy, advocacy and external engagement agenda from its New York hub. The role will represent the organisation in the United Nations system, guide a global team, and ensure that advocacy is aligned with field realities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior‑level representation of World Vision within the UN system and broader humanitarian architecture, leading engagement with UN agencies, member states and strategic partners.
• Lead a globally dispersed team of humanitarian policy and advocacy professionals, setting strategic direction across New York, Geneva, Rome and other hubs.
• Develop and promote policy positions, research, publications and strategic messaging that reflect operational experience and influence humanitarian policy debates.
• Advise senior leadership on emerging humanitarian trends, risks and opportunities, preparing briefings, talking points and stakeholder analyses.
• Maintain strong two‑way connections between global influencing efforts and field operations, ensuring coherence of advocacy with disaster management priorities.
