Senior Counsel – Services Business & Market Insights (Privacy, AI & Data)

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its Privacy, AI, and Data Responsibility (PAIR) group. You will act as product counsel for the Services Business & Market Insights (BMI) vertical, guiding the development and commercialization of data‑driven products.

Key responsibilities

• Support the end‑to‑end lifecycle of complex, data‑centric products, coordinating with legal and strategic specialists.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and data processing agreements for Services BMI product sales.
• Advise business stakeholders on applicable regulations, internal policies, and risk mitigation.
• Provide expertise to PAIR colleagues on Mastercard’s anonymization controls, aggregation methods, and data storage environments.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• Minimum 5 years of practice in privacy, AI, or data‑protection law, preferably with law‑firm experience.
• Ability to work independently, communicate clearly with C‑suite executives, and collaborate across functions.

Required skills

• Generative AI prompting and agent orchestration for legal research and drafting.
• De‑identification techniques and Privacy‑Enhancing Technologies.
• Data analytics techniques and terminology.
• Data flow diagramming and understanding of card‑payment processing data flows.
