Senior Cost Accountant

About the role

This senior cost accountant will oversee inventory accounting, product costing, and gross margin analysis for our distribution business, ensuring accurate valuation and providing analytical support across purchasing, supply chain, operations, and sales.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance standard costing systems, perform detailed landed cost analysis, and analyze price and volume variances.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes for cost accounting, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and detailed cost reports.
• Serve as liaison between business and IT for inventory and warehouse system integrations, supporting ERP enhancements and data integrity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5–8+ years of progressive cost accounting experience, preferably in a product‑based environment.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced, detail‑oriented setting.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with NetSuite and warehouse management system (WMS) integrations.
• Knowledge of standard and average costing systems, GAAP inventory valuation, and cost flow assumptions.
