Senior Consultant - Investigations, Litigation & Forensic

About the role

Protiviti is hiring a Senior Consultant for its Investigations, Litigation and Forensic Services team, based in Houston with additional locations listed. As a Senior Consultant you lead defined workstreams in fraud, investigations, regulatory enforcement, e-discovery and forensic matters from planning through delivery, coordinating timelines and deliverables, conducting fact-finding and evidence gathering, analyzing financial and electronic information and communicating findings to client stakeholders and internal leadership. You work under the direction of Managers while taking increasing responsibility for investigative approaches, project monitoring, deliverable quality and the development of Consultants and Interns.

Key responsibilities

• Lead workstreams in fraud, investigations, regulatory enforcement, e-discovery and forensic matters
• Manage client-service workstream activities, timelines and deliverables
• Conduct fact-finding, evidence gathering, interviews and financial transaction review
• Apply forensic accounting, data analytics, e-discovery methods and digital tools to support case development
• Analyze data to identify discrepancies and perform follow-the-money procedures
• Prepare chronologies, workpapers, reports, exhibits and client-ready presentations
• Support compliance risk assessments and regulatory requirement reviews
• Coach Consultants and Interns, review their work and build skills
• Communicate findings clearly to clients, counsel and internal leadership
• Monitor scope, budget, progress, risks and dependencies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree required; preferred fields include Accounting, Analytics or Data Science, Business Administration, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Criminal Justice or a related field
• Three to five years of relevant experience in forensic accounting, investigations, fraud review, regulatory matters, e-discovery, litigation support, compliance or related professional services
• Experience owning substantial parts of investigative or forensic workstreams with oversight from engagement leadership
• Demonstrated experience with project planning, execution, deliverable tracking and budget monitoring
• Experience applying data analytics, evidence-gathering methods and digital tools in investigative casework
• Experience reviewing and coaching junior team members
• Prior consulting, accounting, legal, regulatory or professional-services experience preferred

Required skills

• Forensic accounting, data analytics and e-discovery methods
• Relativity or other digital tools (preferred certifications: CPA, CFE, CFF, ACEDS)
• Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills

What we offer

• Hybrid workplace combining in-person work with remote work, with variable remote-to-in-person ratios
• Salary range of $88,000-$132,000, with a 10% bonus target and total cash range of $96,800-$145,200
