Senior Communications Payload Avionics Engineer

About the role

You will lead the design and development of satellite communication payload avionics for the Meridian Space constellation, covering RF front‑ends, transceivers, modems and antenna interfaces. As part of a small, high‑impact team you will own the hardware from concept through to flight‑ready integration.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop RF/Analog circuits, PCB layouts and embedded control architectures for communication payloads.
• Lead integration, testing and qualification of avionics at subsystem and system levels, including EMC, vibration and thermal testing.
• Perform failure analysis, root‑cause investigations and continuous improvement of hardware designs.
• Conduct link‑budget analysis, system modeling and simulation for space‑to‑ground and inter‑satellite links.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in RF/Analog circuit design and board layout.
• Experience modeling, designing and testing radio subsystems, preferably for satellite payloads.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• RF/Analog circuit design, PCB layout, Altium Designer or Cadence.
• HFSS, CST or similar RF simulation tools.
• Bench‑level bring‑up using spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and vector signal generators.
• Knowledge of modulation schemes, RF architectures and signal‑integrity principles.
