Senior Commercial Legal Counsel

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Senior Commercial Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support for its commercial activities across North America. The role involves advising business units on complex transactions, ensuring contractual compliance, and supporting the company’s ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Commercial Transactions (≈70%): Draft, negotiate and review contracts related to aircraft sales, financing, services and procurement; coordinate with Airbus legal teams worldwide.
• One‑Roof Legal Support (≈20%): Provide legal advice to sales, engineering, manufacturing, finance, procurement, HR, government relations and other functions across all North American sites and affiliates.
• Compliance (≈10%): Work with the North American Ethics & Compliance team to ensure adherence to internal policies and applicable laws; support global compliance initiatives.

Required profile

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Bar and good standing.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a recognized law firm or in‑house legal department.
• Preferable experience in the aerospace or aviation industry.

Required skills

• Strong contract drafting and negotiation abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of commercial and corporate law.
• Familiarity with aircraft sales, financing and procurement processes.
• Ability to manage cross‑functional, cross‑jurisdictional relationships.
• Understanding of ethics and compliance frameworks.
