About the role
The Senior Bridge Standards Engineer is responsible for structural analysis and design of bridge standards projects, ranging from routine to highly complex, and for supporting updates to the Bridge and Culvert Manuals.
Key responsibilities
- Develop structural standards incorporating current methods and technology.
- Produce design computations for structural plans and update design policy documents such as the Bridge Manual and Culvert Manual.
- Review and recommend approval or disapproval of proprietary products for qualified product lists.
- Conduct special investigations on design specifications, concepts, and construction procedures.
Required profile
- Current registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Illinois.
- Experience in structural analysis and bridge design standards.
Required skills
- Structural analysis and design computations.
- Knowledge of Bridge Manual, Culvert Manual, and related design guides.
- Ability to develop and update engineering policy documents.
