Senior Billing Specialist

About the role

Jeffer Mangels & Mitchell LLP (JMM) is seeking a Senior Billing Specialist to join its Billing Department in Century City. The role focuses on managing high‑volume monthly prebills and invoices, supporting complex billing matters, and ensuring compliance with client billing guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, edit and finalize a large volume of monthly prebills and invoices in line with firm and client requirements.
• Oversee the pre‑bill lifecycle, track outstanding items and follow up with attorneys and stakeholders to meet invoice deadlines.
• Manage multiple billing addresses, split bills, multi‑payer and consolidated billing scenarios.
• Set up and maintain e‑billing, submit rates, monitor approvals and resolve e‑billing rejections.
• Maintain accurate client and matter billing data within the firm’s billing system.
• Assist the Billing Manager with daily operations, reporting and process‑improvement projects.
• Provide responsive client service by handling attorney and client inquiries.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of legal billing experience in a law‑firm environment.
• Familiarity with Aderant, Elite, or comparable legal billing platforms.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

What we offer

• Competitive salary range $95,000‑$105,000 base.
