Join a minority‑owned insurance defense boutique in New York, handling complex litigation for property owners, insurers, and municipalities. The firm offers autonomy over cases from inception to resolution and expects senior associates to mentor junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex insurance defense files independently from pleadings through trial.
• Argue motions, conduct depositions, appear in court, and handle mediations and arbitrations.
• Maintain clear communication with carriers and claims professionals.
• Track billable hours accurately and meet invoicing expectations.
• Mentor junior associates and paralegals on case strategy and professional standards.
• Collaborate with partners on high‑stakes or novel matters.

Required profile

• NY‑barred litigator with 5–8 years of insurance defense experience.
• JD from an accredited law school.
• Comfortable managing a high‑volume caseload with minimal oversight.
• Trial experience required; second‑chair trial experience considered.
• Lives within commutable distance to New York courts.

Required skills

• Proficient in drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and court filings.
• Experience at mediation, arbitration, and settlement conferences.
