About the role
The Roger Bacon Academy seeks a School Bus Monitor to ensure the safety and discipline of K‑8 students on the school bus. This part‑time, on‑site role supports the school’s mission by fostering a secure and orderly environment during transportation.
Key responsibilities
- Direct student loading and unloading, preventing congestion and unsafe conditions.
- Ensure students are seated correctly and released to the proper guardians at each stop.
- Maintain order on the bus, enforce bus rules, and intervene in any altercations.
- Keep the bus interior clean, pick up trash, and report any malfunctions or needed repairs.
- Participate in safety drills and assist at railroad crossings as required.
Required profile
- Prior experience in early‑childhood educational settings is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with children, drivers, parents, and staff.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to follow oral and written instructions.
