School Bus Driver – Part‑Time

About the role

The school bus driver will provide safe and efficient transportation for K‑8 students at Classical Charter Schools of Leland. This part‑time position supports both curriculum and extracurricular activities, ensuring students arrive on time and in a secure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all school, district, and Department of Transportation policies and traffic ordinances.
• Conduct pre‑trip inspections, report mechanical issues, and keep the bus clean.
• Maintain discipline on the bus in coordination with the bus monitor and report incidents.
• Transport only authorized students, discharge them at approved stops, and complete all required accident reports.
• Stay current with state driving regulations and communicate promptly with the Office Manager and Headmaster.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license with CDL endorsement and personal auto insurance coverage.
• Clear oral and written communication skills; ability to read maps.
• Interpersonal skills for interaction with children, parents, staff, and bus monitor.
• Problem‑solving and reasoning abilities.
