About the role
The Roger Bacon Academy is seeking a part‑time school bus driver to transport K‑8 students safely on scheduled routes for both curriculum and extracurricular activities.
Key responsibilities
- Follow all school, district and Department of Transportation policies and traffic ordinances.
- Maintain discipline on the bus in coordination with the bus monitor and report incidents.
- Inspect the bus before each trip, keep it clean, and report mechanical issues or delays.
- Load and unload students only at authorized stops and ensure only authorized students ride.
- Complete and submit all required accident and safety reports.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license with CDL endorsement and personal auto insurance.
- Clear oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read maps and follow directions.
- Interpersonal skills for interacting with children, parents, staff and bus monitor.
