SAT Prep Instructor – Part‑Time (Chicago)

About the role

Proximity Learning is launching a 14‑week Title I SAT preparation program for 11th‑grade students in Chicago. We are looking for a part‑time instructor who can deliver engaging 50‑minute lessons in math, reading and writing, and help students develop effective test‑taking strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Teach small‑group SAT prep sessions covering mathematics, reading comprehension and writing skills.
• Assign and monitor practice tests using the College Spring Connect Learning dashboard.
• Provide individualized feedback and track student progress throughout the course.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to align supplemental instruction with regular curriculum.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in the Proximity Learning Information system.
• Communicate student performance to school staff and parents as needed.

Required profile

• Passion for working with adolescents and a patient, respectful demeanor.
• At least one year of experience as a classroom teacher, tutor, or educational resource personnel.
• Four‑year degree; certification or licensure is a plus but not mandatory.
• Reliable transportation to Chicago, IL 60644 or willingness to relocate.
• Ability to pass a national background check, including fingerprinting.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of SAT content and test‑taking strategies.
• Effective classroom management and small‑group instruction techniques.
• Proficiency with the College Spring Connect Learning platform for assigning practice.
