Sales Support Specialist - Life & DI

About the role

MassMutual is hiring a full-time Sales Support Specialist for its Internal Sales Desk (Life & DI) in Springfield, Massachusetts. The role provides telephonic sales support to Financial Professionals on MassMutual life and disability insurance products, using product illustration software and internal sites, and keeps Internal and External Wholesaler colleagues informed on market trends. It is a developmental, time-bound position of up to 18 months, aimed at preparing candidates for an Internal Wholesaler role.

Key responsibilities

• Answer product and rate questions in an inbound telephone queue and route calls to the right departments, including forwarding leads to Internal Wholesalers
• Fulfill requests for marketing collateral, application kits and illustrations, and run product illustrations within established turnaround times with 100% accuracy
• Complete fulfillment requests for marketing materials and document all activity in the CRM system (Salesforce)
• Build and maintain strong product knowledge, including economic, industry and competitor information
• Other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6+ months of customer service, sales, leadership or relationship-building experience
• 1+ year of FINRA Series 6, State Securities License Series 63 and State Life & Health licenses, or must obtain them within 6 months of hire
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree, prior third-party life/DI distribution experience, 1+ year in financial services/insurance, 1+ years of sales support or direct selling experience, proven written and verbal communication skills

Required skills

• 1+ year of Microsoft Office experience
• Preferred: CRM (Salesforce) and customer relationship management experience
