Sales Engineer – Chicago

About the role

7AI, the foundational AI security company, is seeking a Sales Engineer based in Chicago to join its go‑to‑market team. You will be one of the first senior technical hires, shaping how the company engages customers and scaling the technical sales motion for its AI‑powered cybersecurity platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical sales conversations and conduct high‑value customer engagements.
• Advise senior IT and security executives on threat landscape and technology environment.
• Design and deliver technical demonstrations, proofs of concept and proofs of value.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to turn customer feedback into roadmap priorities.
• Mentor junior Sales Engineers and represent 7AI at industry events.
• Improve pre‑sales processes, tools and documentation as the team scales.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity‑focused Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture or similar customer‑facing technical roles.
• Proven success in complex B2B enterprise sales, preferably in fast‑paced startup environments.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
• Expert‑level knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and modern threat landscapes.

Required skills

• Experience working with AI/ML technologies in the security domain.
• Proficiency in scripting and solution customization for implementations.
