Rural Community Engagement & Impact Coordinator

About the role

The Rural Community Engagement & Impact Coordinator will lead the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of community‑engaged initiatives that support the Behavioral Health Workforce Initiative and broader regional capacity‑building efforts. Reporting to senior staff, the Coordinator works closely with internal and external partners to ensure programs are aligned with strategic goals and deliver measurable impact for rural communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with rural communities, educational institutions, healthcare providers, workforce partners, and community health worker (CHW) training organizations.
• Coordinate outreach, communication, and relationship‑building activities to strengthen partnerships and increase participation in community‑engaged projects.
• Represent the department and university at meetings, events, and community engagement activities.
• Plan, develop, implement, and support initiatives focused on workforce development, community health, resilience, and regional capacity building.
• Oversee CHW recruitment, training coordination, participant support, and related workforce development activities.
• Assist with program evaluation, impact measurement, strategic planning, and documentation to inform continuous improvement and future funding opportunities.

Required profile

• Ability to work under general supervision while managing multiple stakeholder relationships.
• Experience coordinating community‑based programs or initiatives.
