About the role
The Rural Community Engagement & Impact Coordinator supports the Behavioral Health Workforce Initiative by coordinating community‑engaged projects that strengthen health outcomes and regional capacity in rural Texas. Working under general supervision, the coordinator collaborates with internal and external partners to plan, implement and evaluate initiatives that address workforce development, community health and resilience.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with rural communities, partner organizations, educational institutions, healthcare providers and workforce partners.
- Coordinate outreach, engagement and communication activities to strengthen partnerships and increase participation in community‑engaged initiatives.
- Represent the department and the university at meetings, events and community‑engagement activities.
- Plan, develop, implement and support community‑engaged projects aligned with workforce development, community health, resilience and regional capacity‑building efforts.
- Support coordination of workforce pathway initiatives, including Community Health Worker recruitment, training coordination, participant support and related activities.
- Assist with program implementation, impact measurement, strategic planning and documentation of outcomes.
Required profile
- Under general supervision, able to coordinate planning, development, implementation and evaluation of community‑engaged initiatives.
- Experience in partnership development, cross‑sector collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with behavioral health workforce initiatives and community health programs.
