Roadway Data Analyst (Technical Manager III)

About the role

The Roadway Data Analyst (Technical Manager III) is responsible for reviewing and verifying roadway inventory data submitted by districts, maintaining the Linear Referencing System (LRS), and supporting GIS and reporting needs for the Illinois Highway Information System.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review procedures to ensure accuracy and validity of roadway inventory and LRS data.
• Maintain the LRS to provide accurate geographic representation of the state road network.
• Utilize GIS applications to review roadway data and produce maps.
• Generate special demand reports for internal users.
• Coordinate with district staff, Structure Analyst, and other teams on inventory or LRS changes.
• Review district revisions for data errors and advise the Highway Data Manager.

Required profile

• Experience reviewing and verifying large datasets related to transportation infrastructure.
• Ability to work collaboratively with district staff and other analysts.
• Strong attention to detail and knowledge of state reporting and FHWA requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Geographic Information System (GIS) applications.
• Knowledge of Linear Referencing System (LRS) concepts and maintenance.
• Data validation and reporting skills.
