RN Surgery Operations Coordinator – Jefferson Highway

About the role

The RN Surgery Operations Coordinator provides supervisory and direct patient care within the operating suite, ensuring safe, efficient surgical procedures. This position blends clinical expertise with leadership to support staff, manage resources, and uphold quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, sterilized operating room and gather all necessary supplies for each surgery.
• Supervise, develop, and evaluate nursing staff and patient care technicians on the unit.
• Coordinate patient care plans, address pre‑surgical concerns, and ensure effective scheduling and staffing.
• Collaborate with quality, safety, and experience leadership to promote patient‑centered processes.
• Manage conflict on assigned shifts and support daily clinical operations.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a BSN (required for Ochsner Magnet facilities).
• Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least 1 year of relevant RN experience or 2 years as an LPN in acute care.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques, patient safety, and surgical operation procedures.
