About the role

This is a 12‑week PRN assignment in the Neuroscience ICU at Kings Highway. The RN will lead patient care using the nursing process, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and uphold Ochsner’s nursing philosophy.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care by applying the nursing process, assessing needs, and providing education to patients and families.
  • Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members while maintaining accountability for quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, manage resources, and use data to drive optimal patient outcomes.
  • Adapt communication and care approaches to respect cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.

Required profile

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 1 year of RN experience, preferably in ICU or neuroscience settings.
  • Current RN license in the state of practice and active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, good judgment, and interpersonal skills.
