RN Navigator – Breast Cancer Center (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Breast Cancer Nurse Navigator serves as a clinical expert, patient advocate, educator, and care coordinator for individuals diagnosed with breast cancer or high‑risk breast conditions. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Navigator ensures seamless access to diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and follow‑up services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop therapeutic relationships, conduct nursing assessments, and provide individualized education on diagnosis, treatment options, genetics, and supportive resources.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care across surgical, medical, and radiation oncology, as well as radiology, pathology, genetics, rehabilitation, and supportive services.
• Facilitate timely scheduling of appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments to minimize delays.
• Assist with genetic risk assessments, referrals for counseling and testing, and manage symptom‑related concerns.
• Document all navigation activities, barriers, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse diploma (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; oncology or breast‑health experience preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong conflict‑resolution abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and electronic medical record systems.
• Computer data‑entry and retrieval skills for patient information.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of oncology nursing navigation standards (ONS, AONN+).
