RN Hospice Clinical Manager

About the role

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, offers home health, hospice and community-based services. The RN Clinical Manager Hospice provides leadership, supervision and coordination of therapy services so that patient care is high quality, compliant and cost effective, while maintaining fiscal responsibility. The role also supports referrals, scheduling, patient visits and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with the director of staffing and be responsible for the overall quality of patient care and the clinical performance of nurses and aides.
• Organize clinical operations for the care center and review service requests to determine patient eligibility and suitability for home care.
• Coordinate patient referrals and admissions with intake, oversee scheduling and payor verification and precertification.
• Review documentation of other staff and resolve missing, incomplete or untimely records.
• Help clinicians set patient goals, establish priorities and develop Plans of Care, and regularly revise them with clinicians.
• Provide direct patient care occasionally in emergencies, take part in the on-call process, and assist in training staff.
• Take part in investigating and resolving patient, family and physician concerns.

Required profile

• Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing.
• At least 1 year of clinical RN experience in home health or hospice.
• At least 1 year of RN management experience.
• Current RN license for the state(s) of assignment.
• Current CPR certification.

What we offer

• Salary of $74,844 to $112,266 per year for full-time employment, depending on factors such as location, education and experience.
