Rheumatology Physician

About the role

The Ochsner Clinic Foundation is seeking an experienced Rheumatology Physician to join its team in Gretna, LA. You will provide expert diagnosis and treatment for musculoskeletal and immune system disorders, collaborating closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff.

Key responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and manage diseases of the musculoskeletal and immune systems.
• Consult with patients to determine appropriate treatment plans.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests to assess illness extent.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
• Participate in departmental and organizational administrative initiatives.
• Utilize cost‑efficient resources for diagnosis and treatment.
• Coordinate care with consulting physicians, nurses, patients, and families.
• Refer cases requiring specialist services while ensuring continuity of care.
• Perform related administrative duties as required.

Required profile

• Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.).
• Active license to practice medicine in Louisiana.
• Completion of a rheumatology fellowship.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
