Respiratory Therapist (PRN) – Temporary

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist on a PRN (as‑needed) basis. This temporary, fixed‑term position supports patient care in a fast‑paced clinical environment, providing essential respiratory services to diverse patient populations.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement respiratory care for patients across various units.
• Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP machines, and aerosol delivery systems.
• Monitor patient response to therapy, adjust treatment plans, and document interventions accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies, equipment use, and home care instructions.

Required profile

• Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of Arkansas.
• Eligibility to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a dynamic setting.
