Residence Director

About the role

The Residence Director is a 12‑month, full‑time, live‑in position responsible for fostering a vibrant, inclusive community for students living on campus. Reporting to a Senior Assistant Director, the role requires high visibility, strong communication, and crisis‑management abilities.

Key responsibilities

• Organize and facilitate events, programs, and activities that build community engagement and a sense of belonging.
• Develop and implement leadership training for student leaders and mentors in partnership with campus units.
• Serve as a hearing officer for residential policy violations, adjudicating cases and assigning sanctions.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to respond to student emergencies and crises.
• Mediate conflicts between students and promote an inclusive living environment.
• Collect and analyze student feedback to improve community programs.
• Supervise a team of Resident Assistants and assist with budget management for events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Student Affairs, Social Work, Education or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in student life, community engagement, or related field, including student supervision.
