About the role
The Rehabilitation Partner provides direct patient care and support within the medical/surgical unit at Lehigh Valley Health Network. Working under the direction of licensed clinicians, you will assist patients with daily activities, therapy preparation, and ensure safety throughout their stay.
Key responsibilities
- Assist patients with transfers, gait, and activities of daily living, including preparation for and transport to therapy sessions.
- Perform hourly purposeful rounding to assess pain, toileting, positioning, and report any changes in patient status to nursing or medical staff.
- Support patients with dysphasia, ensure dining club adherence, and complete documentation for restraints, alarms, and I&O.
- Carry out routine assignments for a designated patient group within the allotted time and follow patient care guidelines to prevent self‑harm.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Less than 1 year of patient care or customer service experience.
- Ability to recognize and act upon changes in patient condition and work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends and holidays.
- Physical ability to lift over 50 lb, push/pull up to 140 lb, and perform frequent standing, walking, squatting, and reaching.
Required skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association.
