Registered Respiratory Therapist with Sign‑On Bonus

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to deliver respiratory care to patients with pulmonary disorders. Qualified new graduates may receive up to $20,000 and experienced candidates up to $30,000 as a sign‑on bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Administer physician‑prescribed respiratory therapy, including oxygen, medications, pulmonary function tests (PFTs), arterial blood gases (ABGs), and mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor patients on mechanical ventilation, perform clinical assessments, troubleshoot equipment, and assist with weaning and airway care.
• Collect and analyze sputum, blood, and breath specimens; measure lung capacity and provide diagnostic results and treatment suggestions.
• Document all patient care activities in compliance with quality standards and departmental regulations.

Required profile

• Graduate of an AMA‑approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Less than 1 year of related experience (new graduate) or qualified experienced candidate.
• RRT certification (National Board for Respiratory Care) within 1 year of hire.
• ACLS certification within 60 days of hire and RCP certification for Pennsylvania upon hire.

Required skills

• Respiratory therapy procedures (oxygen therapy, medication delivery).
• Mechanical ventilation operation and troubleshooting.
• Pulmonary function testing (PFT) and arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) techniques.
• Use and maintenance of diagnostic respiratory equipment.
