Registered Nurse – Physician Practice

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in a physician practice setting, providing direct patient care, education, and coordination across the continuum of care.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations, administer medications and vaccines, perform wound care, and assist with office procedures.
• Facilitate care coordination, ensuring labs, studies, and referrals are completed and results discussed with patients.
• Assess patient readiness to learn, provide education on medications and clinical concerns, and evaluate the effectiveness of that education.
• Triages calls, provides health advice using approved guidelines, and documents daily activities per accrediting standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and current RN license in Pennsylvania.
• Excellent time‑management, computer, and EMR skills, including word processing and Excel.
• Knowledge of registration, insurance, managed‑care plans, medical authorization requirements, and referral coordination.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (required upon hire).

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and word processing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
