Registered Nurse – PACU

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network seeks a Registered Nurse for the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to provide professional nursing care, assess patient needs, and ensure safe transitions from surgery to recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated PACU patients, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Utilize evidence‑based practice, participate in quality and safety initiatives, and contribute to performance improvement processes.
• Provide patient and family education throughout the treatment course and support unit and hospital goals.
• Perform validated technical skills specific to the PACU specialty and use technology to optimize care delivery.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure in Pennsylvania.
• Ability to organize and prioritize assignments, maintain unit‑specific competencies, and complete orientation programs.
• Physical ability to lift/carry 40‑50 lb, stand/walk for long periods, and perform CPR as needed.

Required skills

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (state of Pennsylvania).
• Basic computer skills.
