Registered Nurse - Orthopedics, Full Time Nights

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a full-time night shift Registered Nurse for its orthopedics unit. Within nursing services, the RN provides patient-centered care for an assigned group of patients, planning, directing and evaluating nursing care while considering physical, developmental, emotional, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and functional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients systematically to build a comprehensive standard of care and evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing plan of care
• Follow established nursing objectives, standards, policies and procedures in delivering care
• Ensure accurate documentation and adequate supplies, and know how to operate equipment
• Educate peers, patients and families
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure in the state of Florida
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers
• Ability to lift and move patients and heavy equipment, including pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs and carrying or lifting up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to work in a stressful environment, make sound decisions independently and work long periods standing, sitting or walking

Threshold requirements include annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance program maintenance, and ongoing professional licensing and certification.
