Registered Nurse - Oncology Clinical Research

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Oncology Clinical Research program. The Clinical Research Nurse works with the principal investigator and the Research Manager to run clinical trials in line with federal, state and local laws and with FDA Good Clinical Practice standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with patient recruitment, eligibility evaluation and registration for clinical trials
• Coordinate scheduling of research procedures, lab and radiographic assessments, admissions and clinic visits
• Coordinate study enrollment, protocol treatment and completion of study requirements
• Provide protocol education to patients and families, adapting to their age-specific needs
• Collect and prepare specimens, monitor test results, and review adverse events and concomitant medications
• Ensure source documentation of eligibility and maintain FDA GCP standards
• Assist the principal investigator with protocol development and review, and develop protocol-specific materials with the Research Manager
• Serve as backup research coordinator for NCI, pharmaceutical-sponsored and National Cooperative Group protocols
• Collaborate with staff within AFCI and outside organizations to complete clinical research trials

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure in Florida and BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• At least 2 years of recent RN experience; oncology experience preferred
• At least 2 years of clinical research experience
• Preferred: professional nursing certification (OCN, RN-BC, etc.), oncology/cardiology experience, and clinical research certification
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pull/push up to 40 lbs; ability to work in a stressful environment and work independently
