Registered Nurse – Med/Surg

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network seeks a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care on a Med/Surg unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital‑Muhlenberg. The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in line with facility policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients, coordinating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Utilize evidence‑based practice, participate in quality and safety initiatives, and contribute to performance improvement processes.
• Provide patient and family education throughout the treatment course and support smooth transitions of care.
• Perform validated technical skills specific to the unit, mentor new staff and interns, and delegate tasks appropriately.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure (PA State) upon hire.
• Ability to organize and prioritize assignments, maintain clinical competency, and complete unit‑specific orientation.
• Basic computer proficiency and willingness to adopt technology for care delivery.

Required skills

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (PA) upon hire.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications.
