Registered Nurse - Inpatient Oncology (Chemo Certified, Nights)

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its inpatient oncology unit. The nurse works nights and provides patient-centered care for an assigned group of patients, acting as educator to peers, patients and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct and evaluate nursing care with a holistic view of the patient's physical, emotional, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs
• Assess patients to establish a standard of care and ongoing reassessment to meet changing needs
• Follow established nursing objectives, standards, policies and procedures
• Ensure accurate documentation, adequate supplies and knowledge of equipment operation
• Maintain compliance with hospital procedural standards and support the hospital's mission and vision
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Current RN licensure in the state of Florida
• Oncology chemo certification required
• BLS certification for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment, including pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs and carrying up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to work in a stressful environment, independently and with attention to detail

Threshold requirements completed annually: Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance, and maintenance of professional licenses and certifications.
