Registered Nurse – Emergency Medicine (Part‑Time)

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a part‑time Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Medicine team on Jefferson Highway. The RN will lead patient care using the nursing process, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team, respecting cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.
• Participate in unit and department strategic initiatives to improve outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; CPI certification within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate good judgment, and manage time effectively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
