Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department at Lehigh Valley Hospital‑Muhlenberg. This position provides professional nursing care through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide patient and family education throughout the treatment course to ensure smooth transitions of care.
• Participate in evidence‑based practice, performance improvement processes, and research projects as applicable.
• Teach, mentor, and precept new colleagues and department interns.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure in Pennsylvania.
• Ability to organize, prioritize assignments, and maintain unit‑specific competencies.
• Successful completion of orientation programs related to the specialty.

Required skills

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (required upon hire).
• Basic computer skills for documentation and technology use.
