Registered Nurse – Acute Neuro Unit – Nights

About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide patient care on the Acute Neuro Unit during night shifts, following the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code, and Scope & Standards of Practice. The role includes leading the nursing process, delegating to team members, and supporting Ochsner's commitment to quality outcomes and cultural sensitivity.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver patient care and assess learning needs.
• Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members.
• Communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to manage resources.
• Promote change using data and knowledge to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
