About the role

Ochsner is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Acute Neuro Nightshift on Jefferson Highway. The role involves leading patient care using the nursing process, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and upholding the highest standards of professional practice.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through the nursing process, ensuring quality outcomes and cultural sensitivity.
• Assess learning needs of patients and families and provide appropriate education.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively.
• Utilize data and evidence‑based practice to drive improvements in patient care.
• Adapt interactions to respect patient privacy, cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Certification in a clinical specialty area is preferred.
