Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist

About the role

The Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist provides direct and indirect patient care, assisting physicians during diagnostic and invasive cardiac, electrophysiology, structural heart, and peripheral procedures across multiple LVHN campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms with all necessary supplies and equipment, and assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping.
• Perform hemodynamic and physiologic monitoring during routine and complex cardiac procedures, documenting changes and taking appropriate actions.
• Scrub, monitor, and circulate for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, peripheral, and structural heart interventions, anticipating physician needs.
• Execute arterial and venous sheath removal, including use of mechanical closure devices and manual compression.
• Maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and manage inventory to promote cost‑effective care.

Required profile

• Specialized diploma from an accredited cardiovascular science or radiation technology program.
• Certification as RCIS, RCES, RT, or CCT in Pennsylvania within the specified time frame.
• ACLS and Basic Life Support certifications obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Critical‑thinking ability and decisive decision‑making in critical situations.

Required skills

• Hemodynamic and physiologic monitoring during invasive cardiac procedures.
• Arterial and venous sheath removal techniques, including mechanical closure devices.
• Equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance in cardiac labs.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
