Regional Chair of Imaging – Physician Leadership Role

About the role

Under the direction of the System Chair of Imaging Service Line, the Regional Chair provides strategic leadership for imaging across the Greater New Orleans region. The role collaborates with senior leadership at system and campus levels to guide physicians and advanced practice providers in delivering high‑quality, patient‑focused care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a group of more than 50 physicians across 10+ sites in the Greater New Orleans region.
• Develop and maintain efficient clinical operations and promote collaborative relationships among clinicians.
• Implement strategies to enhance imaging services, improve patient outcomes, and optimize departmental efficiency.
• Drive academic growth, research initiatives, and medical education programs aligned with accreditation standards.
• Oversee day‑to‑day radiology operations across multiple facilities, ensuring quality standards, policies, and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with strategic partners such as MD Anderson and Andrews Institute to expand multidisciplinary programs and clinical research.

Required profile

• Current board certification in Radiology (or related imaging subspecialty) and an M.D. or D.O. degree.
• At least three years of leadership experience at the section or department level in an academic health system.
• Active medical license (or eligibility) in Louisiana and credentials within Ochsner Health.
• Significant clinical experience in radiology practice with expertise in diagnostic imaging interpretation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the EPIC electronic health record system.
• Experience using PACS imaging databases.
• Knowledge of clinical data analysis and outcomes research.
