Refugee Health Promotion Assistant

About the role

The Refugee Health Promotion Assistant supports health promotion activities for refugees and ORR‑eligible populations in Wichita, helping improve health literacy and access to care.

Key responsibilities

• Identify health care needs and service gaps across program teams.
• Assist clients with enrollment, eligibility verification, and orientation.
• Facilitate access to primary, specialty, behavioral, dental, vision, and preventive services.
• Coordinate appointment scheduling, transportation, and follow‑up care.
• Provide interpretation coordination and language‑access support.
• Support outreach events and workshops with culturally appropriate health information.
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure confidentiality.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Public Health, Social Work, Human Services, Health Education, Community Health or related field (preferred).
• At least one year of experience delivering social services or health programming for vulnerable populations.
• Experience working with refugees/immigrants navigating U.S. service systems (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
